Gayle is a classical soprano with a broad range of choral and solo experience; she has performed with The Gabrieli Choir Budapest, Oxford based chamber ensemble The Cherwell Singers, and has also had the pleasure of joining a larger group performing alongside BBC Elstree Concert Band at Dorchester Music Festival in 2017. She holds a bachelor of music degree with honours from Aberdeen University and has had private vocal lessons since the age of 14.

Gayle currently studies with lyric soprano Madeleine Holmes and has attended masterclasses in Cambridge with Katharina Megli and with Sarah Leonard at Benslow Music. 

During her years at university she was a regular member of opera societies taking part in the chorus for a range of productions from Bizet's Carmen, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas to Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance and The Sorcerer. Solo roles include the 1st Child Spirit Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Filippyevna Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and in April 2023 the 1st Attendant in a concert performance of John Weldon's The Judgement of Paris.

As a soloist, her repetoire is diverse ranging from popular operatic arias, art song, musical theatre ballads and American Songbook standards. She has a working level of French and is currently learning Italian, as well as a basic phonetic understanding of Latin and German. This has provided her with the opportunity to travel, undertaking a residential week in York Minister in 2018 and an intensive week exploring Italian arias in Florence. More recently she was delighted to have the opportunity to attend the Veneto Opera Summer School with Melofonetica performing as part of the Arte Lirica Festival 2024.
